PHOTOGRAPHY - SCALE - HUMAN FORM -
Create a series of high quality photographs in a studio setting of the Eames plywood chair with and without models. Each photograph should also be taken with and without a measuring devise to indicate 3" horizontal and vertical increments.
- Each team is to create a front, side, back, and top photograph of the Eames plywood chair with and without a model and measuring devise.
- Each team is to create a series of photographs of different sitting positions in the Eames plywood chair with and without the measuring devise.
- Each team is to create a series of photographs of people standing and sitting next to the Eames plywood chair with and without the measuring devise.
Each team is to create the following full scale freehand drawings based on the photographs above. Create a 3"X3" scaled grid on your photograph based on the measure devise in the photographs.
Draw the front, top, side views of the chair. Start by drafting a 3"X3" grid on the paper. Render the chair with accuracy and materials. Use the photographs as a scaled reference for the full scale drawings of the chair and model. Render full scale models in outline/ghost form. Determine and dimension essential sizes, angles, and positions as related to the human form, sitting, and overall comfort of the chair. One team member is to do one view each.
Each team is to assign one of the following drawings to each team member. Use the techniques above with measuring grid and rendering/line techniques to create the drawings.
- Standing next to the chair.
- Sitting beside the chair
- Sitting in the chair at an angle or unconventional position
WEB PRESESENCE
1. Each student is to standup a basic sqauarespace website. Set up a basic squaresapce "personal" account using the UTK student discount. You can upgrade later if you need more space or features.
2. Set up your website with the following steps and settings:
- Use a large image template. (Use the Momentum, Forte, and Frontrow highly recommended.)
- Set up the website menu with the following links.
- portfolio (as a blog)
- about (brief professional bio) include a photograph of yourself
- contact (how to contact you for more information)
- home - feature your best work by adding galleries.
3. Email the link to your website before Monday, February 2nd.
