Practice paper folding techniques by completing techniques from Folding Techniques for Designers: From Sheet to Form. 

Complete a single folded example from each section listed below:

  • 1.1.1_X Linear Sixty-fourths
  • 1.2.1 Translation  
  • 1.2.4 Glide Reflection
  • 4.1 Basic V Pleat,
  • 5.1 X-Form Spans
  • 7.0 and 7.1 No-Crease One Crease
  • 8.1.3 Making a Mold
  • one exersise of your choice from the book 

When you complete the exersise you will have 9 examples of folded paper. 

-Free Downloadable version of the book is available via the UTK Library. 

-The compositions are to be well crafted and care given to precision and attention to detail.  

Exploration: 

Based on the reviews in class, research on Contempoary Japanese Gardens and Contempoary Ikebana, be aware of your enviornment and continue to collect (5 or more) intersting limbs that express the essence of a limb by diplayig elements of the beauty of line, that created space, movement, and feelings or emotions.
